“Move to Cargo” project launches in Merano

On 30 April 2025, the new SuCoLo initiative “Move to Cargo” was officially presented at the Naturalia organic market in Merano – an innovative project designed to promote more sustainable urban logistics in the comune.

The event was attended by Daniel Alfreider, the provincial councilor for mobility, Katia Zappia from indipendent L and Joachim Ellmenreich from the South Tyrolean Union of Trade, Tourism and Services.

“Move to Cargo” is introducing a new urban mobility offer designed to simplify daily life and reduce environmental impact. The goal is to make local shopping in Merano more sustainable, practical, and accessible to all.

Free cargo bike sharing, bike deliveries for only 2 euros, and a pick-up station will be available to all residents of Merano from 10 May 2025 until June 2026.

The initiative is being implemented by SuCoLo partner STA – Südtiroler Transportstrukturen AG in collaboration with Independent L.
